ABOUT
Somebody has to answer when the code is scanned.
The 2D transition was designed by and for organisations with data teams, resolver budgets and someone whose job is standards. A cidery with nine SKUs faces the same transition — the same retailer questions, the same print rules, the same decade of answering — and none of the apparatus. We built the apparatus.
packagepage exists because a printed barcode is a promise that outlives every decision around it — the agency that drew the label, the season the product launched in, the software subscription that was live the day it went to press. Someone has to keep answering. We decided that should be a service with a spine, not a QR generator with a dashboard.
IN ONE SENTENCE
We get your whole catalogue Sunrise-2027-ready in an afternoon, and then keep every printed code alive and compliant forever.

THE RULINGS WE BUILT AROUND
These are not values. They are decisions we've already made, and they cost us money.
01
Never 404
A printed code never dead-ends — not on cancellation, not on non-payment, not during an outage. If you leave, your codes keep resolving on a page we host, because the person holding the jar didn't cancel anything.
02
Gate scale, never correctness
Print-ready vector files are free at every tier, with identical preflight and no watermark once your prefix is verified. Paid plans buy room and automation. There is no premium barcode.
03
A trust gate, not a price gate
Until we've verified your company prefix is yours, previews are watermarked at every tier. No plan lifts it. The alternative is helping someone print codes claiming to be you.
04
Block only the unrecoverable
There is a short, published list of things the product refuses to do. Everything else warns you clearly and then lets you proceed, because you know your label and we don't.
05
Some things you can't restyle
Brands theme consumer pages with typed tokens, not CSS. The allergen block, the safety block and the recall notice always render at full contrast. Here, "you can't change this" is the feature.
VOICE
Teach, don't scold
Every error in the product states the rule, names the likely cause, and says what to do about it. GS1 is genuinely complicated. Making you feel stupid about it is a design failure.
Every refusal, written out →Who we build for
And, just as usefully, who we don't.
FOR
Independent brands with 5 to 5,000 SKUs
Cideries, hot-sauce makers, skincare lines, coffee roasters, family food businesses. Real GS1 obligations, no GS1 department, and a founder who did not plan to learn what an application identifier is.
FOR
The packaging agencies they trust
You're going to be asked about 2D codes on every label you redraw before 2027. We'll be the part you don't have to become an expert in, and the client keeps ownership of their catalogue and domain.
NOT FOR, YET
Global manufacturers with a GS1 team
If you have master-data governance, an EPCIS deployment and a resolver roadmap, you don't need us — you need integration, and that isn't what this is.
WHERE WE STAND WITH GS1
GTINs and company prefixes are licensed by GS1 member organisations — never by us, and we verify that the prefix you enter is licensed to you. We build to the published GS1 standards and test against GS1's own public conformance suite. packagepage is an independent company: GS1 does not endorse, certify or operate this service.
PRESS & SPEAKING
Writing about the 2D transition, or running an event for independent brands? We'll say something useful on the record.
press@packagepage.com →WORKING HERE
No open roles right now. When there are, they'll be listed here rather than anywhere else.
Tell us about your labels
Send a photo of your current packaging and roughly how many SKUs you have. We'll tell you plainly what, if anything, you need to do before the end of 2027.
