What this means
A GS1 company prefix is between 4 and 12 digits and nothing else. No spaces, no dashes, no country letters in front of it.
Why it usually happens
A prefix pasted out of a spreadsheet usually arrives with a trailing space, or with its leading zero removed by the spreadsheet on the way out.
What to do
Retype it exactly as it appears on your GS1 licence, digits only. If it begins with a zero, keep the zero. It is part of the prefix.
