What this means
A GTIN carries at most 500 links you created. Links written by a recall notice are exempt and do not count towards it, so a product at the ceiling can still take a recall.
Why it usually happens
A per-batch or per-unit campaign that wrote one link for every grain rather than one link that reads the grain.
What to do
Deactivate or delete links you no longer print for. If you genuinely need more than 500 on one GTIN, write to us — the ceiling is easy to raise and painful to lower, which is why it starts where it does.
